When shopping for proofing baskets & bread lames, the real choice is often about matching the basket format to the loaves you shape. The REXCH set offers round and oval pieces in a multi-piece kit, while the Bread Banneton option focuses on an oval basket with a liner. That makes the decision clear: prioritize shape flexibility, or keep the setup focused and spend less on the listed price.
Quick verdict
Choose the REXCH Banneton Set if you want round-and-oval flexibility and a broader baking kit. Choose the Bread Banneton Basket and Liner if an oval proofing basket with a liner fits your routine. Where each product wins
REXCH wins on shape flexibility
The REXCH set is the more adaptable choice for bakers who alternate between differently shaped loaves. Its description specifically names round and oval banneton baskets, so the included formats are the clearest reason to choose it. The kit is also described for sourdough, artisan, rye, and homemade bread, giving it a broad baking focus without requiring a single loaf style.
Bread Banneton wins on the liner-focused setup
The Bread Banneton option makes the stronger case when release and cleanup are central to your routine. Its liner cover is described as helping prevent dough from sticking to the rattan, supporting smoother release and easier cleanup. The listed oval shape keeps the setup straightforward, while the USD 13.52 price makes it the lower-cost choice in this comparison.
Product notes
REXCH Banneton Set
The REXCH Banneton Set suits bakers who want more than one basket shape in their sourdough routine. Round and oval formats give the set a concrete advantage for switching between loaf presentations, and the natural rattan construction is paired with the classic spiral pattern associated with banneton-shaped bread. The kit's listed "Easy to Clean" feature is another practical reason to consider it. The limitation is care: the stated instruction is hand wash only, so it is not the right match for someone seeking a machine-wash care routine. Its USD 14.99 price also sits above the alternative, making the broader assortment the main justification for choosing it.
Bread Banneton Basket and Liner
The Bread Banneton Basket and Liner is a focused choice for a baker who wants an oval proofing setup with a liner included. The liner cover is described as helping prevent dough from sticking to the rattan, which supports smoother release and easier cleanup after shaping. Its natural-rattan appearance also fits a traditional banneton presentation. The limitation is the narrower listed format: the package includes one proofing basket, and the shape is oval, so it does not offer the round-and-oval choice named for the REXCH set. For a routine built around that shape, however, the liner and listed USD 13.52 price keep the decision simple.
Final choice by use case
- Choose REXCH for varied loaf shapes: The round-and-oval basket formats are the deciding feature.
- Choose Bread Banneton for liner-assisted release: The included liner cover is the clearest practical advantage.
- Choose Bread Banneton for the lower listed price: Its USD 13.52 price is below the REXCH set's USD 14.99 price.
- Choose REXCH when hand-wash care is acceptable: The set combines the broader basket format with a stated hand-wash-only instruction.
